In the summer of 2005, while eating lunch outside in the sunshine, I had a brainstorm. I was holding one of my pottery bowls in my left hand, fork in my right. The foot of the bowl pressed uncomfortably into my left hand, and I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great to have a bowl that was actually shaped to your hand?”
Of course I got right to work in the studio. After a few years of refinements, I had perfected my own original, signature design. The Hand Bowl has a base which has been carved out for a comfortable fit if you are holding your dinner while sitting outside (or on the couch), yet still sits solidly on a table for times of greater civility.
Find me at the Eugene Saturday Market to pick out your very own Hand Bowl.
